The program kicked off with the Glorious Woman modelling contest. The contestants were all wonderfully dressed in formal wear, African attire and the church’s beautiful regalia.
The contestants were competing in two categories; Glorious Granny and Glorious Woman.
The questions asked to these exquisite women were mainly focused on the church’s history, for example, when did the church start or where was the first service held. The results were quite interesting.
Miss Personality 2014 was won by the graceful Gogo Sibiya.
The Glorious Woman category was won by the beautiful Mrs Chiturike from Bethel Worship Centre.
She could not hide her tears of joy upon hearing the judge announcing her as the winner. It was a title well deserved as she had walked on the ramp with much confidence, with a beautiful smile and dressed to impress.
Later, after having spent some time worshipping God, Apostle Pride Sibiya preached the word to the eagerly anticipating women present.
He read from Ephesians 6:12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
The man of God taught on how to deal with the spirit of bitterness. The fruit of the Spirit is love, he said. You cannot love God if you hate your brother whom you see.
Bitterness causes your spirit to be weak.
Some people in church work under the influence of a bitter spirit. Others do the right things but with the wrong spirit. God builds your character by putting you in a family with imperfect personalities to mould your character. Know that your family is not your enemy, but the devil is. Love them for love covers a multitude of sins. Bitterness can be caused by gossip, rape or jealous.
It is caused by thinking that everyone better than you are causing your misfortune.
Beware of pastors who preach with a bitter spirit.
Therefore fight bitterness with love. Hatred, witchcraft, revenge and resentment are weapons of the devil which Christians should not use.
Revelations 4:1 tells us to be at a higher standard, that is the standard of love. The greatest person who was supposed to revenge wrongdoing was Jesus Christ, but he doesn’t. Instead he prays to God that Father forgive them, for they know not what they do. The one who loves is more powerful than the one who hates.
After the man of God preached, he prayed for those who were being haunted by the spirit of bitterness. The Spirit of God was at work, delivering His people so they can conquer the spirit of bitterness.
